With the sparking waters of the Western Caribbean as a backdrop, professional poker player Chance Kornuth became the latest winner of a Card Player Poker Tour main event.

Kornuth walked away with $18,000 for winning the $1,100 no-limit hold’em main event on Card Player Cruises Allure of the Seas Sept. 10. Kornuth, a World Series of Poker bracelet winner, now has more than $1.77 million in live tournament winnings.

Kornuth was joined at the final table by CPPT familiar faces Chris Schonbach and Pablo Ortiz.

With his fifth cash of Season II, Ortiz, a regular at bestbet Jacksonville, now sits in a five-way tie for the most cashes with Moses Clepper, Trenth Smith, Chan Pelton and Wistar Holt. Ortiz has earned more than $24,500 during CPPT Season II.

Schonbach, who finished 12th in the CPPT Foxwoods main event in February, picked up his third cash of Season II and now has a total of $54,347 earned on the season.

The next stop of the CPPT will take at the Bicycle Casino in Southern Californian Sept. 21 – Oct. 15 with a $1,100 no-limit hold’em main event. Following the stop at the Bike, the tour will remain in Southern California and stop at Hollywood Park Casino Oct. 17-26 with a $350 no-limit hold’em $100,000 guarantee main event.
